Found hedgehog

Found hedgehog in the middle of front garden
Not very well at all
Took it to the vets
Would a cat have got him? Or would there be a mark showing that?
Or would be just be illness?

Illness likely

Cats can’t do a whole lot to hogs. Dogs can harm them more than cats but you would see injuries

More likely to be illness or something he's eaten (plastic - much less likely to be poisoned slug nowadays but it's a possibility). They pick up ticks and fleas a lot and these carry viruses. Glad you found a helpful vet.

My neighbour found one that seemed n deaths door a couple of years ago in her garden. RSPCA took it in and it was just dehydrated and covered in ticks (or fleas, can’t remember). They treated it and successfully released it a few weeks later, so hopefully yours will be fine too.

Well they said it would most likely be put down
He did look very poorly but he had life in him but I've no idea how poorly he was. He wouldn't take water or food at all
No hedgehog rescue answered. (I tried them first) so took him to the vets
