Anyone travelling to Menorca/Majorca can help me?

I’m delighted that these 2 places have been added to the green list.
We have been looking at a UK getaway and as much as I am sure we would have had a lovely time here I’d be so much happier to go somewhere warmer. I’m not from the UK and to be fair it’s been just work work work the past 1 1/2 year and I really need a break somewhere nice and hot.

We are looking at Menorca/ Majora and just need to understand a few things:

1.Do I need to do PCR tests before/ after travel?

  1. If we do have to test, where should I get the test from and how much they cost?
  1. Can anyone recommend travel insurances?
  1. Anything I need to keep in mind or understand it that it will be very different from a normal holiday?

I promise you all, I’ve been looking and reading stuff but I’m getting different info from different places especially re test/quarantine.

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Ps we are looking at anywhere between 4-7 nights. Depends on flights availability really

The issue is that even if someone gives you the guidance blue, it might change at any time. I don't know what the situation is with majorca/menorca. The uk government site seems to be updated both for coming into UK and going into other counties and I would suggest following the gov. UK relevant sites

I don’t believe you need anything atm as a Brit to enter Spain.
I think coming back a test in Spain before leaving and another on day 2. The latter needs to be from approved list. I’m told the former is more flexible and readily available in spain.
This is assuming that Balearics follow spain rules which I imagine they do but not 100%

As I understand it, Spain don't currently require a pcr on entry from the UK (yet!) as we've are not on their red list. However this is reviewed every week, I think it's due today? If we turn red, then you need a negative pcr result 72 hours before travel. You also need regardless, a negative pcr 72 hours before travel back to the uk, and to privately test again on day 2 of return. No need for self isolation unless this comes back positive.
You need to complete a passenger locator form and an online health check form no more than 48 hours before travel.
These countries are on a green watch list, so can change to amber at short notice.
DS1 is off to Majorca next week. It's very complicated and things can change quickly. The GOV websites are the best form of info. Check daily.
He got Covid insurance through Jet2. Not sorted tests yet.
These countries as I understand it do have curfews, reduced capacity venues and mask wearing in public places.

Thanks everyone, I totally appreciate that regulations and rules can change daily. Thinking of going in the next couple of weeks so hoping that it won’t go back to amber literally a week /10 days after turning green.

Can anyone recommend on where to get PCR tests from?

Google.

Book a package rather than individually, as you can then package the tests.

FizzyPink · 27/06/2021 09:53

If you book with someone like TUI, EasyJet or BA they have package deals for the tests with various providers which make it cheaper.
We’re going to Greece with TUI and it’s very easy to put in which country you’re flying to and then select the package you want.

Watching for any changes as I’m also hoping to persuade DP to have a short jaunt to Palma in a few weeks.
