I need to replace my lounge carpet, I’m thinking of having laminate and would welcome opinions if you have it or have had it . My stairs come off of my lounge and will be carpeting them . What do you think of the pics ? Too busy ? Many Thanks All .

I like that flooring!

We changed to laminate couple of years ago and don't regret it.
Find it a lot easier to keep clean.

Do you have beading around the edges?

Yeah we do as we changed skirting boards before we changed it. We put white beading on.

I didn't know if to match flooring or white but the flooring company advised white and it looks great. We have a light grey floor.

I personally prefer oak look, but I have seen the grey tones look beautiful with the right wall colour.
None of those are too busy!

Thank you, I’m having my skirting painted white (it’s Pine at the moment) on Monday, I have 2 white walls and 2 grey walls. It’s quite an expense for me so I don’t want to regret it.

Are they all the same flooring? I like it in picture one but on picture three the planks look smaller therefore busier - it might just be the angle of the picture.

Like a PP I prefer the oak look personally, but the grey tones look nice too.

We’ve got laminate through the lounge and hall with carpet on the stairs and looks fine.

My tip - buy one of those spray mop things so you can give it a quick once over when needed. Especially if you’ve got young children running in and out / spilling things Hmm I couldn’t be arsed getting the proper mop out every bloody day but then again, I’m lazy Grin

They are 2 different laminates , I used the Tapi website where you can visualise it in your home. I have an adult daughter and her boyfriend living with me but they might as well be toddlers 🙄 although I am guilty of knocking the odd cup of coffee over on the carpet.
