Keep or sell? 🤔

We have a HUGE bundle of Thomas the Tank Brio-style track, bridges, engines, Tidmouth Sheds, train garages etc. A really massive collection. DS adored it until he was about 5 and then moved on - DD never bothered about it. It’s stored in 3 massive boxes and because it doesn’t get played with, it’s just taking up space. Some of the engines are quite rare and they’re all in pretty good condition.

DH thinks we should keep it to pass on to grandchildren in the future (the DC are only 7 and 4 so this will be way off Grin), I think we should sell. Judging by eBay prices there’s a couple of hundred quid’s worth. WWYD?

Sell. You can buy future grandchildren the toys they want.

Sell it! You could do a nice day trip with the money.
That being said, kinda wish my parents had kept some of my stuff for my children. So I'm not much help

Thanks for the replies! I think sell too….it all holds very fond memories as DS loved it so much, every photo of him between the ages of 2 and 4 was of him clutching at least one little train! But I have lots of nice memories and photos, and I’m sure another little one would love them.

Only 7? I’d definitely keep for now. My 11 year old has just got the Brio out again…slightly more elaborate scenarios than when he was 4!

I know Sad he dropped Thomas very suddenly for Octonauts (then sea creatures, then space - now all he wants to talk about is Pokémon) and hasn’t ever really got them out much since. I got a bit tired of Thomas at the time but I’d take that again over constant talk about Pokémon Grin

Grin we had a party for DD and they all spoke in their favoured Pokemon language for over an hour…

Condense it into one box of favourite trains and a fair bit of track, then sell the rest. We had tonnes when ds was little, he's never realised how much we sold as he just remembers the set rather than the fact it took up the whole lounge floor!

What we did was keep one box.
We selected the expensive /nicer bits and gave away a lot of the generic stuff.
I've done that which quite a few things, but we have attic space, and I am conscious we have visiting kids.
