Pasta! I can’t for the life of me eat it, even after a small portion I end up bloated, gassy and feeling so sick

I’ve tired organic, whole grain, rinsing the starch off and even ready meals with pasta in them but the effects remain the same

I love pasta and I’m not ready to never eat it again!

What are you eating it with?

Longestfewdaysupcoming · 26/06/2021 16:15

Could you be gluten intolerant?

Agree that it sounds like gluten intolerance

I did think that myself but pasta is the only thing that seems to affect me, ahhhh it’s so annoying

I’d give it up. I used to have all of those symptoms, plus diarrhoea and belly ache, whenever I ate meat. Gave it up, vegetarian ever since. It’s a shame but I was feeling rough.

You can get spaghetti made of rice, I used to eat this a lot when I live abroad, so maybe give some of the alternatives a try. Are you ok with eggs? Might be worth making your own pasta without eggs, to see if it’s the flour or the eggs.

Good luck OP! Perhaps it s a temporary thing.

bethmc93 · 26/06/2021 17:10

Yes to the diarrhoea! It’s weird you’ve said that because certain meat does that to me as well.

I haven’t eaten an egg in about 15 years I can’t stand them. You’ve just give me a good idea actually we’ve got a Chinese supermarket nearby and they do noodles that look like spaghetti made from sweet potato etc so I’ll try some recipes with tbem

Try gluten free pasta. If you’re having in pasta bake/lasagne then it’s pretty hard to tell the difference. Obviously, not as nice as proper fresh pasta, but might not make you feel so rubbish!

try egg-free pasta?
