Having the house to yourself

I try not to think about it too joyfully as I know one day there won't be all the family hustle and bustle anymore..but it's so nice isn't it. Just having some peace and headspace. I've got 3 hours to myself this afternoon (a very rare event!) and I feel like a different person...BrewCake

Isn’t it joyous? Like you, it’s a very rare event which is probably why it’s so precious when it does happen

It makes me realise how my default baseline setting is 'ever so slightly irritated'...ha ha Smile

I'm a sahm of school age DC...when DH was in the office, I'd be home alone for six hours a day. Covid and DH WFH has stopped all that. I'm permanently irritated by the presence of other people. I am an introvert and busy, loud houses are hell on earth for me.

@Comedycook I relate 😫 I miss my own space so much.

Goneback2school · 26/06/2021 15:05

I'm almost the same...teenage ds vegetating in the attic but dh is gone to his parents with the 6 and 8 year olds. It's bliss!

Oblomov21 · 26/06/2021 15:10

I get it about once a month. I adore it.

SkiingIsHeaven · 26/06/2021 15:16

I love my own space. Utter bliss.

Not sure that I would like it as a long term option though. I quite like my husband and kids.

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2021 15:28

I haven’t been on my own in my house for 18 months!
I miss it so much. I do get time to myself being out of the house when I exercise but it’s not the same as just being alone at home.
One day!
Enjoy your peace OP, it’s totally golden.
