Where to park if visiting Hampton Court

The Palace gardens are closed for filming tomorrow, which is where we normally park.

Is anyone able to recommend an alternative car park we could use that's close to the Palace please?

There is a car park on Hampton Court Rd, a short walk from the palace

Sorry not a very good map

Passthepepper · 26/06/2021 11:49

You can also park at Hampton Court train station and walk across the bridge.

Park at another station and take the train a short distance perhaps? Thames Ditton?

TwigTheWonderKid · 26/06/2021 14:40

We always park in the Hurst Meadows car park on Hurst Road

RainbowStarsForever · 26/06/2021 16:17

Thanks all for the suggestions.

@TwigTheWonderKid how busy does the Hurst car park gets at around 10am on a Sunday? Do you have an idea? Just wondering about prebooking...

We've never had a problem but if you can't park there I think you can also park on the street along there.

RainbowStarsForever · 26/06/2021 17:14

Thanks @TwigTheWonderKid

We've often parked at the station. I couldn't tell you if we've parked there at the weekend though...

Have a great time. Hampton Court is truly wonderful.

We went a couple of weeks ago during half term and we parked on the road that runs around the outside. I saw a couple of spaces - it was fine.

Basingfield Rd in Thames Ditton is perfect, then 1 stop to HC

ShoeJunkie · 26/06/2021 23:12

We always park at the station - usually quiet at weekends.

Verite1 · 26/06/2021 23:20

If we can’t park at the palace we park at the station. Never had a problem with it.

GreySweater · 26/06/2021 23:28

Bushy Park carpark is close by. About a 10/12 min walk. We always park there.

RainbowStarsForever · 26/06/2021 23:29

Thanks all 😊

Bushy Park and walk
I miss HC.. i used to walk there along the river, 6 miles from my flat

Cinnamon35 · 27/06/2021 00:24

If you can’t get a parking spot at HC station I’ll eat my hat

RainbowStarsForever · 27/06/2021 18:39

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. We parked in Hampton Court Station and walked across the bridge. Lovely and quiet and only £3.50 to park all day (Sunday). Will definitely do it again rather than parking in the Palace car park.

@alltoomuchrightnow that sounds lovely. Such a beautiful part of Greater London /Surrey. After HC we had dinner then walked along the river for a bit.

Really lovely day out.
