Abscess in Tooth

Posting here for traffic and because I'm not really in a good place to look for new subreddits.

Also - serious fear of dentists that the dentists recommend/insist on sedation.

I had an abscess in my left lower jaw a few weeks ago, had antibiotics, it faded a little. Then an abscess in my right lower jaw, eventually had antibiotics, faded. Abscess in left lower jar is now back and leaking pus and blood.

I have an appointment with the dentist on Monday. Should I try and get seen as an emergency before then or will it be okay.

(abscess totally my fault as neglected teeth)

Adding - on nurofen and solpadeine and the solpadeine makes me loopy, so no idea what's a good idea and what isn't.

You can call nhs 24 and they maybe able to get you an emergency dental appointment m. It is emergency treatment only so they usually just offer to pull the tooth rather than do any remedial work.

Also please do not use any heat on your face as it can draw infection into your facial tissue.

@BashfulClam I didn't know that. And thank you for replying.

I seem to remember something about abscesses being bad. According to my dentist, the tooth is badly broken (I neglected it) and will need sedation. I'll probably get it pulled around October or November.

I'm the opposite of allergic to antibiotics. I don't react enough to them and I always need another course. I wish I could just get a long enough course to get rid of the infection.

I'll see how I go on. I'm also worried about how much codeine I'm having. I'm not safe on codeine.

Be careful and swill regularly with hot salty water.

@BashfulClam Thank you, I'll have a go at that. I should be fine until Monday. I just am a little loopy so I get worried. Really appreciate info
