If anyone has ever had dealings with OFL, were they positive?
Would you recommend buying from them?

One of my sofas came from them. Helpful, friendly and absolutely no issues whatsoever.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 25/06/2021 20:00

Yes great furniture. Bought bed, wardrobes, chest of drawers x 3 last year. They came and built them especially bed. Took packaging away. Lovely service and the furniture is ready well made.

Mum2jenny · 25/06/2021 20:01

Bought several times from them, never any issues.

I ordered in feb and my living room furniture was delivered earlier this month. I’m very happy and there were no problems at all.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 25/06/2021 20:03

Quite generic furniture but well made and solid and excellent service throughout. I needed two, basic, solid, items and that’s exactly what I got. Delivered when they said and great delivery team. No complaints, and, if I’m in the market for the kind of goods they sell in future, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them.

Elliemayclampett · 25/06/2021 20:11

Sofa arrived damaged. Refused replacement and sent someone out to fix it about six weeks later. I definitely wouldn't recommend.

PersianStar · 25/06/2021 20:13

We had a dining room table, tv stand and coffee table from them.
When we unpacked the coffee table it had a massive, deep scratch on the top of it. It looked like someone had taken a knife and gouged a chunk out!
The customer service was absolutely brilliant from start to finish and we had a replacement within 4 days… couldn’t fault them in dealing with it at all.

Mum2jenny · 25/06/2021 20:15

elliemaywhy would you refuse a replacement? Or did OFL refuse to replace it? Your post is unclear regarding your scenario.

squiglet111 · 25/06/2021 20:16

Most of my furniture is from ofl! Great quality and will last forever.

Only thing is the draws in chest of drawers aren't as deep as say ikea drawers.

MrsW2603 · 25/06/2021 20:29

We've bought a sofa, dining table/chairs, side table, coffee table, bookshelves and TV unit a few years ago. Delivery was great and products are still in a good condition. We bought the additional insurance and have used the policy several times (due to our misuse not their quality) and the repairs have been first class and really quick.

So last year just as lockdown lifted they had a factory shop in Cumbernauld we went up and got 2 x 3 Gainsborough sofas, a bevel chest of 6 drawers, a 2 door wardrobe and a chest of 8 matching drawers and a Gainsborough footstool for just under 1k. We the sofas alone are over 1k each. There were a couple of scratches on the wardrobe and chest of drawers and we had to hire a van to collect them but they are outstanding! They sold everything within 2 weeks and closed down. We were heartbroken because we needed more bedroom furniture but we were well happy with the bargains. We also bought a super king size bed about 6 years ago and it has survived 3 house moves!!

Songoftheseas · 25/06/2021 20:35

DD’s bedroom furniture is from OFL. I’m very pleased with it - attractive, solid and robust. However, two pieces arrived significantly damaged (big cracks in the wood) and we had to request replacements. They took more than two months to arrive which wasn’t/isn’t great, however reporting the faults and requesting the replacements was straightforward and the replacement furniture we received was pristine. It’s a pity that we had the issue with the damaged pieces in the first place but I can’t fault their customer service to put things right. All in all I would recommend.

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/06/2021 20:41

I’ve bought various items over the years with no problem - I benefitted from the Cumbernauld sale too @Lillipops, whole dining room replaced for around £800 and everything in very good condition. I can’t fault them.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 25/06/2021 21:01

Rubbish, the springs came though on the armchair in less than a year quickly followed by the springs on the couch. They didn't care, service was awful. Couches are expected to last longer than a year.

BrownJenkins · 25/06/2021 21:06

Thank-you for your replies.
The reason I asked about OFL is my sister has just bought a corner sofa bed. So many problems with it. Legs don't fit, can't attach castors and there's no back cushions. Between us we've been on the phone for hours, trying to get through to customer services. We're constanty held in a queue. The store she bought it from won't help, just told her to ring customer services.
Any ideas as to what she can do if she cant get in touch with customer services?

I ordered from them a few times. Always been good, turned up when promised and on the occasion I did have to speak to customer service (damaged in transit) they were really good and sorted with no problems

HeartZone · 25/06/2021 21:09

We got a table and realised it was too small - they swapped it for the bigger one no problem at all.

FaceyRomford · 25/06/2021 21:39

Horrible. Bought a chest of drawers from the Swindon store, Bog standard wooden furniture. Tried to sell me furniture polish at about twice the price I could get it in any hardware shop, insurance (what for it's made of solid oak) and made me sign more pieces of paper than I had to sign to buy the house it went into. It's a good well made piece of furniture, well worth the price and I like it. The actual shopping experience however was awful and I'll never shop there again.

Elliemayclampett · 25/06/2021 22:57

elliemaywhy would you refuse a replacement? Or did OFL refuse to replace it? Your post is unclear regarding your scenario.

I was refused a replacement sofa by OFL, even though the one they delivered was very badly damaged. I was told the only available option was repair. They delivered a huge part ( frame) and repaired/ replaced the damaged section.

topwings · 25/06/2021 23:06

I ordered from them last year and delivery was delayed because of lockdown (they were clear at the point of ordering that there would be a delay but couldn't give a timeline).

After a couple of months waiting, I had changed my mind on the furniture and cancelled the order and got a no quibbles refund.

RampantIvy · 25/06/2021 23:16

Our dining room table and chairs come from them. The first set of seats had flimsy backing, and broke when knelt on. They replaced them free of charge. After a few years of having food spilled on them we decided to buy new seats for the chairs. The new seats are much better quality and stronger.

I would buy solid oak furniture from them again.

PloptheBarnOwl · 26/06/2021 00:13

Bought several things for our spare room from there last year. Good quality, but the delivery was not easy- the customer service people on the phone and the delivery people were working off different systems, and they couldn't seem to communicate with each other. Took three attempts at delivery.
