Perfect retirement gift

What would your ideal retirement gift be? Our wonderful nursery officer is retiring in 3 weeks time and our budget is £200. What retirement gift did you receive? What would you have preferred?

It’s a nice touch if it’s personal. By that, I don’t mean personalised, I mean something she’s into. For example, a golf bag, binoculars, bread maker, concert tickets etc…
Failing that, restaurant or theatre vouchers would always be appreciated. Maybe even spa vouchers if she’s that type of person. £200 might not get you a year’s flower subscription but that’s worth a look too.

Fivemoreminutes1, we bought a spa day for her birthday. She's just started PT sessions, so maybe a fitness related gift is the way to go. Thank you for your thoughtful ideas.

I really appreciated getting vouchers when I left my previous job. I still haven't spent them yet, because I am waiting for something I know I will use, will last for ages, and will also keep my wonderful colleagues in mind.

Update: I've just found out that she doesn't want vouchers. She wants a gift that reminds her of us! Any homeware suggestions please? With links, if possible.

Homeware - I wouldn’t have a clue! A luxurious, very snuggly throw - as long as you have some idea of her decor?

I was given Amazon vouchers - fine with me.
We bought a colleague a necklace of freshwater pearls, since we already had a fair idea that it was something she’d be particularly pleased with. (She was.)

I like Avoca throws and blankets, they really are lovely, particularly the mohair ones.

Fit bit?

GoodVibesHere · 26/06/2021 14:49

I'd get a pretty silver necklace, as a keepsake.

If it needs to be homeware, I'm not sure, maybe a posh glass vase? Or how about a Neom diffuser and some lovely essential oils

singsingbluesilver · 26/06/2021 14:51

Something for the garden? A bench or hammock or some really lovely planters.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/06/2021 14:55

I was going to say a nice garden bench but someone has beaten me to it! You can get a nice little engraved plaque for it if you'd like to really personalise it.

Abracadabra12345 · 26/06/2021 17:22

A vase that you can personalise. A framed photo of you all!

Scarby9 · 26/06/2021 17:29

When I left a previous workplace I told them I liked a particular local artist and they chose a painting for me. It was presented on the proviso that I could swap it for a different painting if I preferred. It probably isn't the one I would have chosen myself, but it reminds me of those colleagues every time I look at it.

mamacoast · 26/06/2021 17:32

Fabulous ideas. Keep them coming please.
