Last Minute Rota At Work

Posting for a friend who was on FaceTime to me in bits earlier. Was trying to make plans to see her DM but was held hostage to work rota. At her work they have a weekly rota Monday to Sunday. They do not find out until Sunday night the rota for the following week. It can be as late as 10pm, or later, before she finds out she is at work early the next morning. How is this right? How are they supposed to make any sort of plans, appnts? I am used to my Mon-Fri 9-5 so the thought of this is horrid. She has spoken to manager but he is a bit wishy washy... Nothing changed. Not sure what she can do now as she's already questioned and made informal complaint. No unions, no HR, zero hour contract if that makes a difference.

Anyone have any words of wisdom here?

She is unlikely to make headway in persuading her current employers to adopt better working practices.

What she can do is leave

Ok, or might be difficult and it might take time, but start now, cross fingers and hope for the best

That may be the only option I suppose, hadn't it!?
