Cheating tons or Paultons park for toddlers?

I will start by saying we have been to Paultons park twice and my children loved it. They are 4 and 1. We are thinking of going to Chessingtons World of Adventure for a change. Just wondered what others think of it compared to Paultons? We don't live in the area just going to see my in-laws and can't really afford to do both when we are there. So it's one or the other.

I can’t really comment on chessington, they seemed to have some good stuff for toddlers but when DS was little we had a pass for paultons, there’s so much there for small ones.
So my vote for Little’s is Paultons but maybe do chess for a change?

For young children Paultons, the number of rides for littlies was quite small in Chessington, they got more out of the zoo at that age.

You can see the number of rides available on the website I think.

I just clicked on this thread thinking it was about someone’s DH having an affair but saying he was at Paultons Park!

Yes I would agree Paultons or Guillivers at MK for toddlers. The only word of caution I would add for Paultons Park is to steer clear of the parrots, assuming they are still there, they were exceptionally foul mouthed, when we visited a number of years ago.

FlippertyFlip80 · 25/06/2021 19:40

Now I really want to go there just to see the parrots!

Roselilly36 · 26/06/2021 06:43

@FlippertyFlip80 😂 you won’t be be disappointed, if you like parrots, that swear! I turned to DH and said, did they just say what I thought they said, yes they did! Quickly moved the children away.

SmednotaSmoo · 26/06/2021 06:45

I’m really disappointed, been to Paultons loads of times (local season ticket holder) snd never heard a swearing parrot!

Mumdiva99 · 26/06/2021 06:47

We went to Chessington last year - the sea life was good. But apart from that I think Paultons is better.....and I only have one experience of that many years ago....but it wasn't the hell that Merlin theme parks are!!

MondeoFan · 26/06/2021 07:03

Chessington is good for Gruffalo ride and room on broom etc
Zoo also and sealife. They have small carousel and other small rides.
I'd def give it a try. I've been loads with my now 6 year old. We stayed in hotel there in the Gruffalo themed room, it was fab

Timeforabiscuit · 26/06/2021 08:40

Absolute thumbs up for the themed rooms at Chessington, and there was a massive tree house type adventure park great for older toddlers, as well as early access.

But I still loved the feel at Paultons :)

Weepingwillows12 · 26/06/2021 08:54

Both are good for those ages. The peppa pig bit at Paultons is easier for toddlers as it's all in one area but it's mostly very tame. Chessington has zoo, petting zoo, play area, soft play, gruffalo ride, room on a broom, and little rides like carousel, car rides, boat ride etc but it's all spread out over a bigger area.

Weepingwillows12 · 26/06/2021 08:57

One other option if you are looking at those 2 is legoland. That's good for little kids but is really spread out so lots of walking. The queues are also horrendous but if you can go on a school day in term then actually its great as you dont queue much.

ObviousNameChage · 26/06/2021 09:17

I'd say given their ages, Paultons park for one more year. Chessington is great from about 3/4 up ,we've been going for years, but a 1 year old won't get that much from it.

Nordicwannabe · 26/06/2021 09:54

Chessington also have zoo days in term-time which are much less expensive than when the full park is open. That's a great option whilst they are little.

RolandOnTheRopes · 27/06/2021 19:41

I have season ticket for Paultons, totally heading straight to the parrots next visit Grin

Another vote for Gullivers. It's wonderful for little ones. If you want accommodation, their stay and play rates are really reasonable.
