Does anyone know what cream/lotion this is?

A friend met up with me today and her 7 month old smelt delicious! No, not a baby smell. It was a cream!

She said yeah it's this cream I buy, but DC ran off and I forgot to follow up and ask what cream! She hasn't replied to my text yet Grin

It lingered from when I met up with her to when we said goodbye, so about 5 hours?! Strong stuff but baby had beautiful skin

What did it smell like?

I use a lot of childs farm that smells nice.. also the johnsons nighttime lotions smells lovely.

popperyes · 24/06/2021 20:46

It smelt of coco!

I use Child's farm on my son and though lovely smelling, doesn't last scent wise

There's a specific baby one

Thelnebriati · 24/06/2021 20:49

It'll be Palmers, I used it to help prevent stretch marks and never stopped.

FizzyPink · 24/06/2021 20:51

Definitely Palmers coco butter. I use it and DP frequently tells me how nice I smell the day after I’ve applied it so it definitely lingers!

Livpool · 24/06/2021 20:52

Palmers Cocoa butter? It smells amazing

eatingpopcorn · 24/06/2021 20:56

Oh Lordy the smell of palmers coco butter makes me queasy but it seems I'm the only one! I got some kokoso which smells lovely too ☺️

justanotherneighinparadise · 24/06/2021 20:59

I can remember buying a baby cream in Waitrose about three years ago that smelt so divine I wanted to know what perfume they used so I could try and replicate it. Never did find out.

popperyes · 24/06/2021 21:00

Friend has text and said it's Palmers baby coco!

It smelt sort of chocolatey but also of baby powder?

I remember a colleague wearing this and commenting on it. She said 'Oh yes, all black people love this dear' Grin her words , not mine! She said it's very popular in Nigeria where she's from

Friend isn't Nigerian but her husband is so wondering if this is how she's come to use it? But sure I've seen it in the supermarket so I can grab a bottle myself easily

I don’t like Palmers cocoa butter. So you’re not the only one @eatingpopcorn

justanotherneighinparadise · 24/06/2021 21:02

This was the one Waitrose did but apparently it’s been discontinued 🙄

FizzyPink · 24/06/2021 21:03

Oh yes, that’s how I got into using it. DP is Jamaican and apparently was smothered in it throughout his childhood

Oh no! Wonder why they'd discontinue it - I've seen that mentioned before too? Can't pinpoint where

Maybe I should try the palmers baby butter version. I might like that more! Otherwise the scent is apparently vanilla and chamomile. I just need to find a perfume with those notes.

Thelnebriati · 24/06/2021 21:14

You can buy Roman chamomile oil if you sell a kidney and add a few drops to lotion.

justanotherneighinparadise · 24/06/2021 21:18

I also found this thread discussing perfumes that smell like Palmers.

Ooh! Do you have to be a baby to use it? I love that coconut smell. Used to get refills of coconut scent from Bodyshop back in the day, but no more.

Thelnebriati · 24/06/2021 21:24

Al Rehab choco musk plus a dab of vanilla is fantastic.

weebarra · 24/06/2021 21:26

I loved that Waitrose bum butter. DS2 loves coconut and he uses Little coco which you get from Sainsbury's.

dontgobaconmyheart · 24/06/2021 22:32

Each to their own. I find it a bit overpowering gourmand and synthetic, it's recognisable a mile off.

I actually do like the smell in the context of sniffing the bottle but all over the body would be far too much for me. Glad you've solved it though OP.

Mangofandangoo · 24/06/2021 22:46

Waitrose do a baby coconut range I think

lborgia · 25/06/2021 09:31

@dontgobaconmyheart - gourmand AND synthetic. How inferior.
