How to fix a parasol

I finally decided to invest on a decent parasol but a year later the stitching at the end has come undone and there is a small hole on the canvas. What's the best way to re-enforce it so it doesn't happen again?

Hmmm, not sure because if you stitch into it, it's the type of material that will tear at the stitching point. Would doing something with fabric glue work*
