Sorry if done to death but weekend break ideas in south please?

Have had very kind offer of babysitting

Has been horrendous time for me and she so keen to spoil.

We live in south London, keen to go away to coast for a weekend

Criteria - nice walks/scenery. Nice restaurants (recommendations welcomed) Places to mooch.

Canterbury? Baths a bit further but fits criteria. To be honest I would go on group on and see what deals you can get, most places are interesting for a weekend.

Just saw coast, se coast is very busy currently, I'm on the coast and even our little town is rammed despite it not being a resort and no proper beach

Cotswolds - stay in a restaurant with rooms like [[https://bower.house this one]. Lots of gorgeous NT gardens to wander around, some lovely country walks, stone circles and woo folklore, pretty market towns and cute thatched villages for cream teas.

Or Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire - also a nice restaurant with rooms Wander around the NT village where most BBC period dramas are filmed or climb up to the white chalk horse.
