Can anyone with an iPad help please. I can’t work out how to do this ?

If I’m in email and I click on a link in the message then the linked page comes up on the far right hand side of the screen in a narrow column. I have googled and tried every which way but I can’t expand this column to fill the screen. It’s driving me mad especially if the link is to a form that needs filling in and I have to try read/type on this small skinny column. Can any of you out there tell me what I need to do to sort this out? Thanks.

From googling it looks like you may need to turn off split screen:

Settings > Homescreen & Dock > Multitasking > turn off Allow Multiple Apps

Are you accessing email via an app or directly from safari? If it’s from safari and the link keeps opening in a small window at the side, you will likely see a small line between the two windows, you can swipe right or left to expand the side you want to see / make it the only one on the screen.

Thanks for answering. I’m accessing from gmail app. I’ll go into settings and see if I’m on split screen.

This link looks like it describes the problem you’re having and the solution. Drag the small bar at the top of the small window down until the screen turns into a split view, then drag the bar in the middle of the screen over until you’ve only got one window showing. To prevent it happening again you can turn off multi tasking as the poster before me suggests too.

Thank you so much. It’s been driving me crazy for ages because I just couldn’t find a way to expand that column coming up on the right. I’ve sorted it,
