Car modification question

Silly question but I am clueless about cars.

How would I know if it had any modifications? The insurance asks this but I don’t know what the options were when new so I’m not sure.

I think the wheels might be a modification as they are bigger than others I’ve seen but maybe it was an option when buying the car.

Don’t want to render my insurance on my new car void by my ignorance!

Ask the previous owner if you're buying from a private seller, usually a good rummage through receipts in the records.
Buying a car with excellent provenance.

Ask the owner or the garage you are buying from. A quick guide to what counts as modifications can be found on compare the market - www.comparethemarket.com/car-insurance/modified-car-insurance/

It’s a bloody minefield.

Years ago we bought a demonstrator car from a dealer. It had 2k on the clock. Insured it with Tesco. It transpired the dealer had changed the standard alloys on it to ones from another spec of the same car. So official factory alloys. For this Tesco demanded an extra £75 as a modification. They would not have it that this was not a mod and even running a quote revealed it cost the same as the other spec car.

Told them to stick it. Cancelled the insurance with them and have never used them again for any of the cars we’ve had in the family.

The owner doesn’t know.

Don’t suppose anyone here knows if the Audi TT 2015 had 20 inch wheels as an option new?

Ring an Audi dealer. They should know if that was an option.

Absolutely standard on that car.
