We're off to near Broughton in Furness in August and I think we'd better book some pub lunches now. But I don't know the area at all!

Can anyone recommend anywhere nice to eat for lunch or dinner, or takeaways? We'll have our car. Nowhere too smart as we'll have our DC.

Thanks

The Blacksmiths at Broughton Mills is nice - traditional old pub with good food. It’s a bit out of the way down twisty country lanes, you’ll need your sat nav!

Herdwicks Cafe in Coniston is lovely. The food is so delicious and they have some fun stuff on the menu for kids, like unicorn hot chocolate.

The Bluebird Cafe and The Ship Inn in Coniston
The Terrace at Brantwood
Rusland Pool (do an amazing kids menu www.ruslandpool.co.uk/childrens-menu-2/)

Just bumping again in case anyone else has any more suggestions! We are a greedy family and I don't want to miss a fab pub!

The Old Dungeon Ghyll. They don’t do bookings. The portions are good and the scenery around it is stunningly.
