We were planning a trip to Dumfries beginning July. With restrictions now being extended...can we still travel?

Where are you travelling from? Some specific areas in England are banned from travelling to Scotland

GloomyWaters · 23/06/2021 14:43

East midlands

It's only Manchester and Salford areas which have travel restrictions and tbh if your accommodation is still accepting you then I would still do it.

Reality is nobody is going to stop you and given rates in parts of Scotland it's a ridiculous rule anyway!

@GloomyWaters

East midlands
Travel restrictions were lifted between England and Scotland in April.

The delay is to "level zero" so its worth knowing some of the differences between English and Scottish rules e.g children have to wear masks in places in Scotland from age 5

Blackburn, Bolton, Salford and Manchester are currently the only restricted areas for travel to Scotland. East Midlands you are fine as long as your trip doesn't breech the local rules there.
