I've been offered a new job in a different company and am currently awaiting the offer later, confirming start date etc. I haven't handed in my notice yet.
I've been with my current employer for a number of years and qualify for full sick leave. Last week I went for a mammogram after having breast pain for a while - no lumps and bumps but the radiographer flagged an increase in breast calcifications.
The consultant said he would need to speak to her (the radiologist) to discuss whether he would need to do further tests including a biopsy, but said it would take 2-3 weeks.
I'm not panicking about that yet - as I understand it, it could be nothing. But I am concerned about moving jobs while this uncertainity is going on, because it was cancer I'd need an op/time off work etc.
I really want the new job I'm going to - but I really don't know what to say about start dates and what's happening.
My notice period is a month and they want a handover with the person I'm replacing, who leaves in September.
Anyone got any ideas or has had a similar experience?
