Any recommendations for the area? I am about to go for a few days but would love to know if there are any hidden gems or lovely restaurants around

Not exactly ‘hidden’, but Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are worth the drive. Surprisingly, my dc loved the paper mill at Wookey as they got to make their own paper (pre Covid times). Also visit the Cheddar sweet factory, the cheese company (we tried our weight in cheese) and Lion’s Rock tea rooms.
Hire bikes from Brean Cycle Hire and do the Brean Down Way.
If you like walking, then try Crook Peak.
There’s a nice farm shop and restaurant at Rich’s Cider Farm.
