Where to buy corndogs?!

I know that they're probably disgusting but I've always wanted to try a corndog 🤣 Does anyone know where I could buy some in the UK?

Ha! Until your last sentence, I was going to say the USA!

Noname1999 · 21/06/2021 18:57

The mini ones from Tesco aren't bad (and they're tiny so if you don't like them it's not much of a waste).

Apparently the ones at Costco aren't very nice.

GreyhoundG1rl · 21/06/2021 18:59

What are they?

Noname1999 · 21/06/2021 19:03

Hot dogs with corn bread batter that are fried

Oh right. Don't sound particularly appetising!
fluffedup · 21/06/2021 19:04

DH bought some once, years ago, I can't really remember what they were, I only remember they were horrible!

I think they were a hot-dog type sausage thing with some kind of coating, on a stick.

He bought them in a UK supermarket, can't remember which one.

SanFranBear · 21/06/2021 19:06

You could always make your own?

I bloody love a corn dog! Proper US ones are delicious 😋

Harrykanesrightsock · 21/06/2021 19:12

Dd was so exited when we went to America to try one. One bite and threw it away. Grim. Sorry not helpful where to get them.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 21/06/2021 19:14

The Tesco ones look genuinely repulsive

BillyBearSpam · 21/06/2021 19:14

The Tesco ones are always out of stock 😔

Costco was my next idea as I'm sure a friend has a Costo card... But if they're awful maybe not.

Amazon sell the batter so I guess 8 could try that or the recipe above, I was just hoping for somewhere I could buy some to shove in the oven!

Mind you I'm vegetarian so what do I know?

1happyhippie · 21/06/2021 19:15

Are they like a battered sausage you get from the chippy. But on a stick?

Cocolapew · 21/06/2021 19:17

Asda do them, I think Tesco have stopped selling them.

Patapouf · 21/06/2021 19:23

Costco have them

Terrazzo · 21/06/2021 19:23

Only seen them in the UK at Country to Country so that’s no help 😄 honestly I wouldn’t bother, they’re tank unless you’re at a baseball game with the whole atmosphere.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 21/06/2021 19:26

They usually come up in the Lidl American week in the freezer section.

MenaiMna · 21/06/2021 19:35

Lidl will do 4th of July stuff soon, they're sure to have corndogs. You'd have to actually like frankfurters though to enjoy them.

gonow · 21/06/2021 19:45

Make your own. I like them. But I'm not very discerning. They taste a bit like toad in the hole

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/06/2021 19:57

They look like something Iceland would stock.

Newnormal99 · 21/06/2021 20:01

Asda did them at Xmas. They were not a hit with my dd!

TheChosenTwo · 21/06/2021 20:03

They look and sound minging! Mind you I wouldn’t eat a frankfurter (or any sausage really) anyway so wrapping it in a thick stodgy batter doesn’t seem like it would add any appeal Grin
But do report back if you try one op, I’m interested in hearing what it’s like!

DonLewis · 21/06/2021 20:13

My dsis makes them. They're delicious. Presume she googled a recipe!

springiscoming12 · 21/06/2021 20:24

They’re delicious! And now I need to know the answer to where to find them too

Toilenstripes · 21/06/2021 20:27

You might try Auntie Annies, which I think is an American import. Hot dogs inside of pretzel dough. Magnifique!

I thought I had seen them in Tesco freezer dept. I have heard of them on an American comedy show. Never tried them.
