Where to watch French TV?

I would like to brush up on my French skills & was wondering if anybody could tell me where in the UK I can watch French TV please?

We have Amazon Prime, Now TV & Netflix, also a Smart TV.

I'd also like to listen to French radio if anybody knows of any decent stations I can get here. We have Alexa so I'm sure it's just a case of asking for the right thing!

Merci bien Smile

I’d change the language on Netflix to french.

I hadn't thought of that, thanks! Do you know if it then offers original French programmes? That would be even better Smile

There are some French programs on netflix but they are not in any specific categories. Lupin is pretty good, series 1 came out last year and series 2 just last week!

TV5 Monde is very good, www.tv5monde.com/

Or on channel 4, if you go under 'world dramas' you will find many French series www.channel4.com/categories/world-drama

This series is very good, but there are many others on Channel 4 www.channel4.com/programmes/the-other-mother

Call My Agent on Netflix is in French

I can recommend Belthazar on Amazon prime. First two series are available at the moment. There are also some Belgian series in French that are very good.

Belgian would be brilliant, I lived in Brussels for a year & loved the dialect, it would bring back memories.

Call My Agent on Netflix is great. Also enjoyed The Last Wave on iPlayer. (Not sure if you can switch off English subtitles on iPlayer though May be a way!)

The Belgian ones I’ve watched are La Mante and Zone Blanche. Both crime series.

Not sure about tv but I find reading the news in French really helpful, I read the regional paper to our mobile home online for free.

There are some French language films on IPlayer and on BFI (subscription or pay per view). The Instiut Francais has a few to view free per month

I don’t have a tv now but I used to get tv5 monde on satellite. There are lots of French Radio stations you can listen to through the internet, I often listen to Nostalgie.
Mythomaniac on Netflix is quite good (series). Also you can sometimes change the language on streaming services so check things you want to watch (usually major things) to see if they have French dubs. Also check your DVDs for the same, it will say on the box which language tracks it has.
