Footner - worth trying?

For the first time in my life my feet have hard skin and are looking less than great. Is footner worth a try or are there better alternatives?

Definitely yes - it’s a gross process but well worth it for the results.

viques · 20/06/2021 19:13

Other things work, like pumice stone, or those foot grater things, but let’s face it, nothing peels like a footner foot, and nothing looks so gross when you take pictures and post them on mumsnet for your virtual friends to enjoy.

KindergartenKop · 20/06/2021 21:09

I didn't find it that effective on super crusty heels.

Pearbear · 20/06/2021 21:11

Oh it’s the best, just when you think it doesn’t work then the peeling starts. I went from hideous hard skin to baby soft feet.

crosshatching · 20/06/2021 21:22

I think they're amazing (must do one again), but definitely don't forget to sunscreen your feet when wearing sandals after its done it's thing!

storminabuttercup · 20/06/2021 21:24

I wouldn't do it right now unless you're happy to wear socks and stuff for two weeks. Your feet will look awful while it does it magic

Footner is great! My feet are really bad and I often have to chip away at the hard skin.

HandlebarLadyTash · 20/06/2021 21:34

Love em, totally gross but fun.
Also got myself a rechargeable foot sander & some miracle cream from aldi.
All helping to keep the hooves at bay

SpeakingFranglais · 20/06/2021 21:36

I’ve used them twice, both times two weeks of peeling for soft feet, which only stayed soft for two weeks.

I’ve had dreadful dry skin on my toes every since.

Margaret Dabbs footfile and cream is a game changer.

Walkerbean16 · 21/06/2021 20:57

footer is amazing. soak your feet first.

and don't fall asleep with it on like I did once or your feet will fricking burn

cheeseislife8 · 21/06/2021 20:58

Definitely for the end result, but your feet are GRIM while it works. Time it well

ScribblyBaller · 21/06/2021 21:16

Footner is good for the gross factor but it's not all that effective on hard skin as such. A Newton's chiropody sponge will take care of that.

LeSquigh · 21/06/2021 21:16

Oh my goodness, Footner is AMAZING. But it has to be the Footner brand - I bought a cheaper one from a supermarket and it didn’t work at all. Nothing else works as well, even a professional pedicure.

FizzyPink · 21/06/2021 21:18

I’m desperate to do one at the moment but terrified the sun will reappear and I’ll have to cover up my feet while they feel.
The best thing for me is convincing DP to do it and then getting to peel his feet as well Grin

Inaquandry19 · 21/06/2021 21:20

Thanks everyone. I have ordered a 2 pack with my prime day £10 voucher. Will report back how I get on.

OMG I was going to start a thread about this tonight! It’s so gross! My feet have been shedding skin for 2 weeks after using it. I keep steeping them in warm water to speed up the process but it’s lasting forever. I’ve used a wee spinny pedicure tool every night and I still have to put kitchen roll down to catch the skin. I’m hoping the end result is worth it.

WellTidy · 21/06/2021 21:26

I did footbed about five weeks ago. It definitely worked - skin shedded over two weeks, but most of it came off in the bath, rather than in strips for me to see.

But my hard skin is back. I think former works really well but the hard skin comes back quickly, so feet need to be maintained. Whereas I think with the Newton’s chiropody sponge, you get the same results but they last longer.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 21/06/2021 21:49

I wouldn’t do footner in the summer, you can’t be peeling in sandals! Flexitol worked far better for me – slap it on at night and wake up to baby-soft feet. And use a pumice stone every time you shower/bathe.

WithLargeTableMouse · 21/06/2021 21:58

Oh my goodness Footner is amazing! Soak your feet first and be prepared to wear socks for 2 weeks while the peeling happens though. My feet stayed baby soft for months and months. In fact, I was getting a bit impatient for some hard skin to build up so I could do it again, I’m actually there now so doing it this week. Grin

ElectricMistofelees · 22/06/2021 07:34

Try the mega file recommended above first - it’s quicker, cheaper and you don’t have to wear socks for 2 weeks!
