Because mine does and this is our entry.

Big bad wolf and little red riding hood.

Was the brief DD gave herself.

Or the Queen gone werewolf on a hooker Princess Anne.

I carried a load of straw back from the yard for this.

Do you think we'll win?

@iklboo

We're not a village but our town does. We did Ziggy Scaredust last year.
Wow that's amazing!

@mnahmnah

I particularly liked this one a couple of years ago when I was visiting another area
Love that - someone last year had some drunk scarecrows head first in the hedge next to one of the pubs.

@Shannith - thank you. We've done Cher-crow & Go Com-scare as well ☺️

Ours does, it is great fun. We have only won once and that was a last minute shit entry because I was really busy so ended up doing a white sheet over a broom ghost and cut some crows out of black paper that were flying away. For some reason the judges loved the play on words!

The village certainly doesn't go all out like some do. Sometimes there are a good few entries, other years only a smattering but it is just lovely that everyone is walking around looking at them. We do it to coincide with the produce show so in the evening (obviously not last year) the hall is full of people chatting over wine and cheese and apple pies and the prizes are handed out and then all the produce is auctioned off as a fundraiser so we get in bidding wars over baskets of apples and green beans.

Yes our village does, OH loves it and goes all out

FlatteredFool · 20/06/2021 20:25

@Spied does the village begin with an M? We had a Captain Tom too. It was fantastic.

That's Kirstie Allsop surely?!

@KateTheEighth

That's Kirstie Allsop surely?!
Now you've said it!

If there is a way to make a papier-mâché head not look like a blow up doll, I've not found it.

To be fair, I've not had much cause to perfect the skill.
