I have a mild vertical eye muscle imbalance and have been prescribed glasses with a small prism to correct this. However, I went to pick them up and my vision was so much worse. I am concerned the optician has ordered the wrong prism.
What I perceive is that my right eye sees things slightly lower than my left eye. So if I close one eye at a time things jump down when my right eye is open and then up when my left eye is open. However, they've given me a base up 0.5 prism in my right eye which moves the image in my right eye down. Isn't this the wrong way as my right eye already sees things more down than it should?
I have asked for a second opinion as the person fitting the glasses had no idea what was going on so am waiting to see the optician again but was wondering if anyone knows anything about this?
My other question is whether prism glasses should be worn all the time. Mine are just for reading so I'm worried that taking them on/off throughout the day and not wearing them for things like driving is going to be very confusing for my eyes/brain. I have been getting headaches and blurred vision and don't want this to get even worse if I'm not being given the correct advice.
