Such thing as hidden WhatsApp chat?

I was just woken by my DP phone ringing. I’ve never checked his phone but the missed call was a friend (just to make sure it wasn’t his mum with an emergency etc).

When I looked at his phone there’s four messages from a female on the Home screen. A name I’ve never seen before, I know it’s not family/work.

As I’ve said I’ve never looked at his phone before but I was able to guess his password. On what’s app there wasn’t any messages from this female name. I’m 100% certain there was four new messages but there wasn’t any on the usual what’s app main chat. I know you can archive conversations but can you archive ‘live’ conversations?

Yes you can archive live conversations.

Are you sure it was WhatsApp? Might he have Signal or another chat app on his phone?

Thank you! I did try googling it but I only found how to archive conversations. Not if they were ‘live’.

I’ll have to have a look at some other point as he’s not sleeping as deeply now.

I would just ask him, you will learn everything you need to know from his reaction. Trust your gut too, it's never wrong.

Could also be iMessage (green speech bubble icon) if he has an iPhone.

How do I do this? I wish you could leave chats without it being announced but this would be a good alternative. Everything I've tried only works until someone sends a message to the group and it pops back to the top of the list again!

Sylbunny, archive works in the same way, once someone messages that group again, it will pop up in your messages again
