I mean I know he hasn’t aged well but blooming heck he was brilliant in his prime. I miss going to gigs so much.

It’s brilliant and also just watched his concert at the Barbican that was on just before , also superb. I’ve loved everything he has done , esp Style Council.

I love Speak like a Child I’m in my 50’s but I’m 17 again tonight

I've just started a Paul Weller thread!

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 19/06/2021 23:20

I've seen him live a couple of times. He's always been so classy

SpindleWhorl · 19/06/2021 23:25

He does something to me. Something deep inside.

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2021 23:27

Im going to sound like my mother now but they really dont make music like they used to

He is still so good, I could watch this all night.
I miss The Jam though, shame they split.
Huge influence on me as a young Modette in the revival

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2021 23:30

1994 was a great time to live in London all the Britpop. Im going to see Jarvis in October sadly I think ill be waiting all night for him to sing Common People. He wont 😟

Those 2 programmes were great. I'd forgotten how much I love Paul Weller

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2021 23:34

I know its taken me right back. I was totally loved up then we went to see him loads of times. I wonder if hes watching this and if he thinks about those times 😃

I've just booked to see him next year as a result of those programmes tonight!

NakedAttraction · 19/06/2021 23:37

It was a great show. Enjoyed watching him age through the programme!

I was too young for The Jam and Style Council at the time but listened to them a lot after Wild Wood came out. Used to spend hours playing the Stanley Road album on the piano.

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2021 23:37

Noel was the cool one then

How have I not seen the duet with Amy Winehouse before, she’s my absolute idol . A great nights viewing and if you didn’t catch the earlier live concert , get it on catch up.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 19/06/2021 23:40

Has anyone just carried on watching?
Annie Lennox was so 😎

Gotthetshirt23 · 19/06/2021 23:43

Loved it but they didn't play The Lodger , my favourite .

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2021 23:43

Oh ive booked the Forum for next year!

I just looked at Paul Weller's wiki page. Fascinating.

Nat6999 · 20/06/2021 00:18

Listen to his new album Fat Pop, it's one of the best albums this year.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 20/06/2021 00:20

I think he has aged well. I don't mind wrinkles on the right face!

SongsForSwingingLovers · 20/06/2021 00:25

At the sound of “You’re the best thing” I was taken right back to a colleague’s wedding reception in 1980-something. Aww.

Rhiani · 20/06/2021 00:41

I think I just deleted my posts by mistake... I just wanted to say that I loved his Headliners interview on BBC sounds. He came across as so down to earth. Very relatable. Love the new album too. Not a hint of covid pandemic about it (written during lockdown). Just Paul, cool and steady as ever, on another creative adventure. So refreshing and inspiring. I like to think there’s a nod towards Bowie in this album although it’s very original.
