Here it is, the shiny after party thread carried on from Salsa's epic thread here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4272664-To-see-how-quickly-we-can-fill-up-this-thread

All welcome - you can post more than once, just don't double post or no trophy for you!

Party on dudes, and be excellent to each other 🎉

@AutistGoth I definitely need to make some chocolate buns this week now!

Little man Wilde is taking his sweet time. It doesn't help that there's no beds on labour ward. This is her 3rd day now, no sleep, in a lot of pain. I'm really hoping she'll go up the priority list soon.

Thinking of your DD, @KurtWilde. I'm going to be optimistic and hope that your absence from the thread for now is due to you helping her/being in contact with her etc.

Thank you, @ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba. He's my friend as well as my music teacher and I do miss him. I see him for weekly lessons on Zoom or WhatsApp video calls. Smile

I'm feeling a bit "head fog" today myself. I think it might be the humidity. I get headaches at the drop of a hat. Hope you feel well again soon.

Hot drinks wise, I'm a tea person. Can't drink coffee because of my epilepsy. I don't mind, though.

AutistGoth · 21/06/2021 16:19

Ah, cross post. I see my optimism was misplaced. Just as long as your DD is being cared for.

championthewonderhorse70 · 21/06/2021 17:11

Been trying to arrange a piss up today. How bloody difficult is it to get a few people together ffs

Welcome to the thread @championthewonderhorse70 🎉🍾🍷🍻🍺🍹🥂🍸🥃🧉 Here’s your piss up

championthewonderhorse70 · 21/06/2021 17:21

Honestly. It's doing my head in.

KurtWilde · 21/06/2021 17:38

Hi champion, special occasion or just long overdue?

Oh god, Bakeoff, don't start with a Rincewind book Shock I love Pratchett and they are barely readable. Go for one of the city watch books (Guards! Guards!) or the witches (Wyrd Sisters).

I was hoping for an easy day after a hectic weekend but my brother ended up in hospital. Thankfully nothing serious and he'll probably be chucked out again tomorrow but I've spent the day relaying messages between my divorced, non speaking parents. Is it bedtime yet?

Hope your daughter is doing OK, Kurt. I had a 3 day failed induction (at 14 days over) so I literally know her pain.

NigellaSeed · 21/06/2021 18:31

Feel for you @Zing, I had my jab Friday and my arm is still sore and a bit red. Occasional chills but I do have form for that, but no other side effects. Hope you are better by tomorrow

@Kurt your poor DD. I hope she's getting access to the good pain relief - if she wants it.

Chocolate buns sounds amazing. May have to settle for Nutella on crumpets

JuliaLou · 21/06/2021 19:16

I've decided after a lovely walk to the beach today we as mere humans do not deserve dogs! There was so many lovely pups around it was great.
Anybody in agreement?

PurpleyBlue · 21/06/2021 19:22

Wyrd Sisters is a good one.

I like dogs but I do not like owners who can't call off their dog and then do nothing but stand there calling the dogs name while it jumps up at people.

PurpleyBlue · 21/06/2021 19:23

I used to have a golden receiver. So lovely.

PurpleyBlue · 21/06/2021 19:23

Retriever

(Thank goodness we abandoned the rules)

Any of the Death ones - (was it Mort?)
KurtWilde · 21/06/2021 19:28

Lucy you'll know exactly what she's going through then. My inductions failed too. Not fun at all.

I love dogs. As I've mentioned on a few threads I have 4 very large dogs and they're incredible.

Three small fluffy dogs here. Was supposed to be two, but then we inherited one. I love them very much, except when they all want to be on the bed at the same time.

@JuliaLou I agree wholeheartedly

Another dog lover here!

We have 2 larger dogs, and a small white one Grin

FlowerPower3110 · 21/06/2021 19:52

It's so sad that they can't stay with us forever

The eldest one is 13 but was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago Confused I'm terrified of losing him! DH and I got him when we first moved in together, and we really see him as part of our family

BakeOffRewatch · 21/06/2021 20:21

Well I’ve started it now, it was the recommendation on last thread. I feel I need to stick by it as my first Discworld read in honour of our last thread. I’m glad to know it’s meant to be difficult to read though! Makes me feel better that it’s not just me.

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 21/06/2021 21:51

Oh, FlowerPower, that's so sad about your dog.

I love dogs but don't have the time/energy to have one at the moment. Maybe someday.

AutistGoth · 21/06/2021 22:16

I love dogs. Such gentle, innocent animals.

Sadly we can't have one because of where we live. However, I do get to walk the beautiful, docile chocolate Labrador of a lady in the community I am part of (trying not to out myself too much!). Being a centenarian, as of last month anyway, the lady in question is a bit too frail to run with him now. He's lovely. He'll get all excited when you're in the park and then he will be calm and quiet when he needs to be.

That's very sad @FlowerPower3110. I can imagine how much you love him. Almost like a child in his own right.

I do have another non-human baby, but since she is a pet that many people traditionally suffer from phobias of, I only talk about her to people who I know not to be afraid of them. I love her very much, though. They aren't traditionally thought of as being affectionate, but my girl is.

AutistGoth · 21/06/2021 22:20

Hope your DD is okay, @KurtWilde.

Thinking of her. X

KurtWilde · 21/06/2021 22:34

Thanks @AutistGoth still no news, she's so so tired but the contractions are too painful to let her sleep. She can't progress further until she's on labour ward and there's still no beds Sad
