I had episiotomy with foreceps and a C-section but not on the same day!😱
bloody hell!

hate me but I'll say this: they should've done an EMSC much much earlier.
get her to start a diary now, write down everything she remembers. get a copy of all the notes during labour & birth.

if she ever wants or needs to elevate this on a legal level it's important she has a record of her experience.

it sounds like she might benefit from counselling to process the trauma she went trough (sorry, but watch out for PND).
not scaring you, but I had a traumatic birth with DS1 and I wish I had thought to have counselling!
she can get a referral and be put on a waiting list - if she doesn't need it by the time she has an appointment she can cancel but I strongly recommend to start rolling the ball.

Zing I appreciate the advice, I feel awful for her and it's her first baby too. I was livid that they didn't do the EMSC sooner and she's high risk too! I had a very traumatic time with DS and never thought to log it all down but I'll definitely tell her to. I can't wait to hug her so hard. But gently.

Been a busy day, took DS into town for a cafe date and swapped are stash of books at the library. Does anyone have any toddler groups running where they are? I'm sure they've never been banned but I really can't find anything where I live I would kill for somewhere fun to take him

That's very sensible advice, Zing. She'll have the notes even if she doesnt use them.

Nigella, not what you were asking for, but have you checked out the trapped toddler parents thread here? I haven't posted on it, but I lurk on it sometimes to get ideas for DD's future toddlerhood.

DS6 has sportsday. it's the last ever event at his infant school for him, which means that after 16 years of going there it's our last time too.
it's quite unbelievable. 18 days to go and then end of an era!

the school is great, but since we moved 7 years ago school runs have been a nightmare. I seldom drink but on 21st July I'm gonna get shitfaced🤣🤣

Morning zing must've been a night for fixes, I had one chasing the neighbours cat round my garden early morning, my dogs were going ballistic so that was fun! Hope your chickens are alright.

High school for my DD in September too, she can't wait and somehow thinks this means she'll be automatically allowed to go everywhere on her own haha like it's some free pass to freedom. Is your DS looking forward to it?

I'll sit add that she calls it high school because she's so entrenched in American teen series at the minute. I just call it secondary school like an old person 🤣

DS6 is only moving to y3, we have separate infants & juniors here. so not yet!
but DS5 is going to high school (y7). I've no idea how he feels, he's not brought it up yet.
also DS3 is starting college, so lots of changes.

my kids' one is actually called high school, it's in the name.

Purpleyblue I hope your DD enjoyed her first day of nursery. I know what you mean about missing your DD. Sometimes I scroll through pics of DD when she is sleeping...right next to me.
