Rocking on all fours at night and during the day

Hey everyone - wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar....

My daughter is almost 1, and from about 10.5-11 months has been rocking on all fours, during the day and overnight.

She’s walking, babbling, her eye contact was a concern but has recently come on leaps and bounds - she’s constantly looking at us, giggling with us and is a very smiley little baby/toddler!

However she has this thing where she rocks in all fours, she will do it during the day, almost like she’s not sure what to do next. She does it overnight, not every night but will do it for 15mins or so sometimes. Nursery have commented on it and have been trying to distract her, they’ve said it could be anxiety thing.

Did anyone else’s little ones do something similar?

My DD used to do this. She would literally rock herself to sleep. It did concern me a bit at first but I think she did it as a form of self soothing. She's now a bright, intelligent nearly 11 year old. I'm sure your DD is fine.

Both of mine (1 year old twins) do something similar but neither myself or Health Visitor have concerns! I'm sure your DD is absolutely fine Smile

Thanks for your responses! She’s doing this less and less now which is great, guess it’s just one of those strange things children do!
