I’ve name changed for this one but am a regular user.
We are relocating to an area we’ve always wanted to live in - south coast. Unfortunately so do many other people. We have sold our flat due to exchange next month, I have a new job lined up in the area and partner will commute for a spell. However, we want to move to a specific area due to the schools - DD starts Reception and DS will be in Year 3, and we cannot get a property to move into - initially we wanted to rent. We started looking months ago with some optimism but everything gets snapped up within hours of being on the relevant property pages. I saw a similar MN thread saying the same.
Everyday it’s looking more likely that we may have to pull out of sale. I really don’t want to but if we have nowhere to live I don’t think we have much choice.
I’m wondering if the market will slow down in the summer and maybe the buyer would be prepared to wait for a few months to exchange but that’s a big ask.
I am completely deflated by all of this we thought we were really organised but didn’t count for all of this. I am on here to hear similar experiences. What did you do? Did it all turn out alright?
Anyway, thanks for reading.
