Separated parents

If parents are separated, and if one of the parent doesn’t have a job as they will spent time looking after that child will this be taking in consideration by the court that they may say that the child is better of living with the other parent ? Due to not working

They look at the whole picture. So if, for example, a breadwinner who has been completely uninterested in doing any childcare, suddenly resigns and declares themself the primary carer, when it isn’t actually the case, and doesn’t reflect the history, I’m the court will see through that, if it gets that far.

At least that’s my experience through one toxic divorce, one amicable one and my friends’ sometimes horrendous situations.

What’s the specific set up?

What about if the parents aren’t married nor on the birth certificate ?

Not married or on birth cert doesn't matter if no one is contesting paternity. What is it you're trying to ask? If by being a SAHP you will be negatively viewed regarding custody? What do you and he want regarding custody? How old is the child? How often does he see them currently or don't they? It's not that simple.

He didn’t mention anything about it yet I just said our relationship isn’t working… so i don’t know his further intention yet. So basically he sees the baby every few weeks he was offered to stay at mine to take of the baby but he decided to leave so I usually do everything on my own he just pays for some nappies that’s it. Just worried he may try to take the baby away from me if he does try
