What does this ring inscription mean?

I was given this ring as a child by my friend and I have just found it after many years (the single perk of moving house!). Does anyone know what it means? I’ve been Googling but can’t find anything.

One ring to rule them all....

I should imagine it's a worn away in parts and should read 9ct + Sil (for gold and silver)

Thanks I think you’re right! I’ve managed to track down a website that shows a ring with the same markings and it says what you’ve said. Funny, I always thought it was a regular metal and the colour change was down to it oxidising or something!
