Can anyone please explain what happened here at work?

Was a while ago now but plays on my mind! I quite liked this IT guy but was married so kept myself to myself apart from a friendly hello and delivering him any parcels that arrived at my desk. Nothing of it. Tried to chat me up at the Christmas party but I couldn't and went back home to my house. On a different department floor (because IT). Just him and one other young guy the same age doing the 'IT' for the business. Caught them on many occasions playing video games when delivering them stuff

Anyway, one day my computer wasn't finding a certain file and I couldn't work out why. He offered to show me. He offered to log on from his computer to mine from his department, meaning I pressed an 'okay' on this message pop up and he had full access to move about and click stuff on my computer, all from his computer

I'd seen it done before but this example actually logged onto his screen if that makes sense. So it wasn't my files etc he was showing, it was his, his homepage set up, etc etc etc.

He was incredibly friendly but had an important issue or something, can't remember what. He left his screen logged on anyway.

At the very top it had this little icon thing that said 'Crush'. If you clicked on it, it lead back to my screen!

Can anyone explain what actually happened?

I was sacked a couple of days later for unrelated reasons Grin

I'm more interested to hear why you were sacked?

HereLiveIAmNotACat · 17/06/2021 22:32

Maybe he had a crush on you so saved your name as that. Maybe it was a random IT related thing that happened to say ‘crush’ who knows who cares HE WAS MARRIED.

Also more interested to know why you were sacked..

No, I was married! Not him

^Sorry, not really very clear from my OP but yes, I was the married one. Only 20 at the time.

I was sacked because I was 5 weeks into the job and told it just wasn't working out. I didn't really fit the profile of the company. Very small and close knit etc

Apologies I stand corrected.

Life is too short to be analysing what the ‘crush’ meant..if you liked him and you’re both now single go make contact!

PartyNeeded · 18/06/2021 07:00

Possibly remote access software www.crushftp.com/index.html

Terrysmyorange · 18/06/2021 07:20

I agree with @PartyNeeded it looks like a remote access software link.
I wouldn't give it anymore headspace.

LittleDidSheKnow · 18/06/2021 07:26

Yes, it'll be the software.

I really can't imagine a full grown man using "crush" like a 13YO to mean someone he fancies!

youcanprance · 18/06/2021 07:37
Possibly remote access software www.crushftp.com/index.html
Omg, so all this time it's been a software name Shock

How long ago was this @youcanprance?

Why are you still ruminating on it?

BumBurnerBum · 18/06/2021 07:46

Yes, exactly how long ago was this?
I can't believe you're still thinking about it!

GlassBirds · 18/06/2021 07:54

Perhaps it wasn't crush as in he fancied you but crush as in he intended to bring you down and squash you and have you removed? 🤷🏻‍♀️

If its in the past, don't worry about it and leave it there.

youcanprance · 18/06/2021 13:11

It wasn't too long ago

I highly doubt he was trying to crush me!
