Anyone had antibiotics for diverticulitis?

Finished them 5 days ago and blood tests from Monday show no infection or inflammation, but still feel so awful. Struggling to stay awake, still losing weight, no appetite.

Anyone had similar experience?

You may need more. I sometimes do. Is it co amaxiclave you had?

Yes. Will the GP give me more if my bloods show the infection has gone?

My mum has it, it's horrible and very debilitating - the ABs are heavy duty (DM's GP described them as like domestos) and can add to making you feel awful. You might need more ABs - or you might just need to allow yourself time to recover (esp if the pain has gone but you're still feeling washed out). Hope you feel better soon.

Try nurturing your gut biome, especially now the AB's will have stripped it bare.

I use kefir daily as its gentle and sometimes fermented foods such as sauerkraut, all good ways of getting gut health optimal.

In Europe they prescribe probiotics alongside antibiotics to minimise the depletion of the gut biome.

Post AB's can make you feel so yuck. I've had them for diverticulitis too and it took a while to start to feel normal again. Hope you are feeling better soon.
