Watching for the 4th time.I think it's brilliantly done.Last watched it 2 yrs ago and even though I know the storyline it's still really enjoyable.
Do you have any comfort series?

Oh I couldn't get into this at all. Sorry. Everybody seemed so deranged. ( I know it's based on Medea). Has my brain just been destroyed by the pandemic?

BrownEyedGirl80 · 17/06/2021 20:10

I didnt realise it was based on a play.

Roz is extremely annoying.Gemma does exactly what every woman in her situation wishes they had the balls to do.The dinner party scene is epic.

I'm rewatching the Tunnel, I think for the third time. It's a bit Grand Guignol, but so was the Swedish/Danish one. I dread the ending.

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/06/2021 20:46

Have you watched Mistresses? Not a comfort thing for me though neither was Dr Foster - both high drama! But great cast and most watchable.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/06/2021 20:52

Comfort watching for me has to be comedy so

Friends
Frasier
Everybody loves Raymond
Plebs
Friday night dinner
The vicar of dibly
Father Ted
Derry girls
Still game
The Royal family

UnitedRoad · 17/06/2021 21:01

My comfort watching is

Dinnerladies
Ted Lasso
Afterlife
Derek

“I’m a wolf tonight”

My goodness that was amazing. The glint in her eye. It’s ultimately a tragedy though isn’t it? I haven’t read/seen Medea but no one is happy at the end are they? I remember watching with FP and feeling so powerfully vengeful for her and DP not getting it at all, because she was being a bitch… but why should everyone else get away with it? Why is she the only one that society expects to be miserable? Shouldn’t they all pay??

Needhelp101 · 17/06/2021 21:07

I've just finished watching Miss Marple. That and Poirot are my ultimate comfort viewing.

Also Sex in the City for something a bit racier.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 17/06/2021 21:07

I might re watch Liar next

My comfort watching -

Buffy
Friday Night Dinner
Inbetweeners
Dance Academy
Heartbreak High
Waterloo Road

… turns out I really like teen dramas Blush

RubyFakeLips · 17/06/2021 21:08

Didn’t love Dr Foster myself but could see why it was popular. I prefer dram set outside of the UK unless it’s a period drama. I get too caught up in the minutiae otherwise.

Comfort series for me are usually quite intense, I like.

Homeland
The Sopranos
The West Wing
The Newsroom
Studio 60
The Looming Tower

Pieceofpurplesky · 17/06/2021 21:09

Anything with zombies!

Mumteedum · 17/06/2021 21:14

How strange...I started rewatching it too yesterday. I was going through similar when I first saw it and god it resonated. Feels more uncomfortable now watching it again. Probably reminds me of that time. The poor child in it though. It's awful to watch.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 17/06/2021 21:18

@AlohaMolly love Inbetweeners!

Oh Pretty Little Liars got me through a rough time in 2015 as well!

icelollycraving · 17/06/2021 21:21

Gavin & Stacey. I’m basically Pam.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 17/06/2021 21:38

I've never watched Gavin and Stacey Blush

I had a cluster feeding baby who never slept, so for a couple of months tv was my only comfort while being continuously stuck to the sofa. I’ve never been so grateful for it! I’ve become oddly attached to some of the series i watched, like they saved my sanity 😂

Fleabag
Catastrophe
Flack
Stath let’s flats

BumCat · 17/06/2021 22:58

Oh! And I really loved Harlots. Have also revisited that.
