Posting for a friend who doesn’t have an account. Spoken to a GP twice but they haven’t actually seen her toddler

Slightly warm
Sounds a bit gunky in his throat with mild occasional cough
Negative
PCR
Seems fine in himself apart from that

She’s worried as tonsillitis is doing the rounds and apparently you need antibiotics to get rid of it? I’m not much help as have no idea about tonsillitis! I think she’s a bit scared to google as it always tells you something dreadful.

I had a quick look but it seems quite broad symptoms wise.

Bad breath, she would notice this straight away.
Temp
Off food and drinks
Couldn't be bothered to do anything just wanted to lie on sofa
He looked like crap bless him
Wanted more naps
Would cry hysterically every so often in pain

Noticeably high temp. You didn't need a thermometer to tell
Vomiting - this was guaranteed to happen in his case
Lethargy
Bad breath
Pale
Very swollen tonsils
Reluctant to eat or drink
Generally miserable

DS2 had chronic tonsillitis as a toddler so we had this every few weeks until he had them taken out before he started school. His was bacterial rather than viral.

The hardest thing was getting a child with a sore throat to take medicine.
