Positive stories of Pfizer if in 30s please? I’m worried

I have anxiety and meant to be getting Pfizer tomorrow. I’ve read all sorts about impact on periods. Has anyone got anything positive to say about Pfizer at a similar age? I’m about to cancel the appointment but the rational side to me says that’s so silly.

It was fine for me, other than feeling a bit tired for 48 hours.

Shrimpseyelashes · 17/06/2021 16:08

I’ve had both both doses. No problems whatsoever.

Do be prepared for the consent conversation at the vaccination centre. If you are anxious then that chat and side effects laminated paper might make you wobble. Make your mind up before and push through if you are there!

I'm not concerned by the side effects but found 'the chat' a little full-on!

Had mine 2 weeks ago. Same age bracket.

Didn't feel the injection at all. Completely painless wouldn't have known it had happened.

Side effects: mild headache, took two paracetamol and felt better. Tiredness for about 3 days, I went to bed early.

EnfieldRes · 17/06/2021 16:16

Period as normal though arrived a day early.

addictedtotheflats · 17/06/2021 16:17

I had mine in jan and feb (NHS), just had a sore arm for a couple of days both times. Periods have stayed the same.

m0therofdragons · 17/06/2021 16:19

I had it in December as I was working in the clinic and it would have been wasted - I’m 39 and had an achy arm for a bit but more than 6 months on I’m absolutely normal and happy I’m protected. I work in a hospital and we all had Pfizer (2,400 staff) with no negative side effects (a few colleagues experienced the mild side effects but they were very low numbers and all are happy they had it). Hope that’s helpful. One thing I noticed was that every single consultant level doctor has had their Pfizer vaccine in our hospital. I think that speaks volumes!

m0therofdragons · 17/06/2021 16:20

Oh yes, periods normal for me.

littlemissminor · 17/06/2021 16:24

Had both of mine and I have had no period since my second one in April - I'm mid twenties and it is starting to worry me slightly now.
All my GP advised was to report via the Yellow Card Scheme as it's not unusual yet not a recognised side effect.

I really hope this doesn't worry / scare you, I'm clearly in the minority on here and I'm sure you'll be fine!!

DontWannaBeObamasElf · 17/06/2021 16:27

I got it towards the end of last month. Period came on time this month. No side affects other than a sore arm for a day or two.

Whyhello · 17/06/2021 16:27

I’m 28 and had mine last week. I had a sore arm where they injected but that was my only symptom, DH is the same age and he was the same. Even DH’s Grandad who is 86 had zero symptoms and he’s had both Pfizer doses. It’s nothing to be afraid of at all. Period just came today on time as well, no effect there.

kittycat863 · 17/06/2021 16:43

I had my first dose 4 weeks ago and was 35 weeks pregnant. Very grateful for it and no regrets (just a little bit of a sore arm).

LondonStone · 17/06/2021 16:44

Hi @Sadagain1547 I’m 31 and had the Pfizer jab (I’ve had both now) and it did have an affect on my periods. I was even asked to report it somewhere (can’t recall where now) but it was really just a heavy period that month. In between jabs and since my second, I’ve gone back to normal.

Obviously NOT pleasant at the time and sleeping was awful because I had to get up every few hours to deal with it but honestly I wouldn’t say it was bad enough to put me off getting the vaccine. If I had to do it again, I absolutely would. Smile x

TTCat39 · 17/06/2021 16:59

I'm 39 (slightly older but still in my thirties!) and had my first Pfizer jab whilst trying to conceive. There were no changes to my periods, I had no side effects, and conceived 2 months later. I'm now 12 weeks pregnant and no issues so far.

MrsWhites · 17/06/2021 16:59

I had Pfizer vaccine 2 weeks before my period was due. Felt burning pain in my arm within a few minutes of vaccine and this carried on for the rest of the day. Woke up the next day to totally normal, no pain or anything and period arrived on time and was totally normal for me.

TTCat39 · 17/06/2021 17:01

@LondonStone Here's the link for reporting side effects - yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

chaosrabbitland · 17/06/2021 17:13

@Sadagain1547

I’m worried about periods really, don’t mind other reactions
well im a bit out of your age group at nearly 49 . but i had pffzier at the beginning of the month, the period that i still get lol ,arrived as usual this week .
negomi90 · 17/06/2021 17:15

I'm 30 and work in health care, so had 2 pfizer doses (one in Jan and one in March). No felt rotten for a few hours the day after the 1st jab, and then had a sore arm after the second. No other problems.

aiwblam · 17/06/2021 17:17

Db and sil are 30s and have had Pfizer with no probs.

I am older and had AZ with horrible side effects. Short lived though and I’m happy I’ve had it.

showmethegin · 17/06/2021 17:56

Had the pfizer a month ago, sore arm, felt achy for a day. Ovulated and period arrived as normal, clockwork. I'm under the care of a recurrent miscarriage team, professor Quenby and she is recommending all women TTC have the Pfizer jab as soon as offered it

CarolinaWeeper · 17/06/2021 18:07

I'm 33 and DH is 35, both had a sore arm for a day or two but absolutely no other side effects. It was totally uneventful (in the very best way.)

BusySittingDown · 17/06/2021 18:20

Had mine a month ago. Didn't have any side effects, not even a sore arm. I'm hoping it actually worked TBH!

TheChosenTwo · 17/06/2021 18:28

First dose, felt sick the next day (24 hours only and woke up the day after feeling absolutely fine) and had a sore arm for about 3 days.
Second dose, sore arm, on day 2 now and it’s miles better.
No one I know has had any extreme reaction to it either.
I’m 36.

TheChosenTwo · 17/06/2021 18:29

Oh, regarding periods, don’t really get them anyway (PCOS) so I can’t comment on that!

Menora · 17/06/2021 18:50

My DD16 had Pfizer her period was over 20 days late. It’s ok now though
