I’m having an outbuilding built
3 week build time
3 men.

It’s going to cost just over £200 in total.

Worth it?

Without a doubt IMO

Findahouse21 · 16/06/2021 13:58

Nope, huge waste of money

safariboot · 16/06/2021 14:00

Depends what bathrooms you have in the house. Ie how far the builders would be tramping mud in every time they need a piss.

DogsSausages · 16/06/2021 14:02

Yes, they will probably be grateful too.

LonginesPrime · 16/06/2021 14:24

What's the plan if you don't hire one?

Can the builders come and go without having to knock and be let in (e.g. no pets/small children you'd need to keep the door closed for)?

Are they going to be interrupting your day coming in and out regularly?

Is there carpet to think about?

VeniVidiWeeWee · 16/06/2021 16:17

IIRC it's a health and safety requirement. Either they use your loo or you, or the builder, must supply one.

SoddingWeddings · 16/06/2021 16:26

The builders have a legal obligation under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to have plans for access to toilets etc for the workers.

If they can't pop in and out of your house, then yes they need a portaloo.

Would you rather they peed and pooed in your garden?

BarbaraofSeville · 16/06/2021 16:29

£200 is probably quite a small amount in the total cost of the build but it would deprive you of the opportunity of starting a 'my builder left my downstairs cloakroom in a state' thread.

ClaireB29 · 16/06/2021 17:39

Yes, definitely

TheDogsMother · 16/06/2021 18:03

100% yes.

3LittleDucksQuack · 16/06/2021 18:13

Nope. I've just had builders for 5 weeks.
They used my loo.
