Hysteroscopy under GA

How did you find out? And how long did it take you to recover?

Scheduled for next week and wondering when I'll be fit to look after the DC (4&10 months) and when I can run, swim again?

how did you find out what?
I was fine afterwards. Had a bit of light bleeding but i was on the end of my period when they did it so possibly no worse than that would have been. I had the following 2 days off work but could have probably worked from home on the 2nd day. I was tired but I'd had a crazily stressful couple of days before the procedure (was travelling with work and got home late then had to be up early to get to the hospital etc) so I don't think it really took much extra out of me. They sent me home with industrial strength painkillers but I didn't take anything at all after the procedure. They kept offering me pain relief while I was still in hospital but it was really no worse than mild period pains.
They won't let you go home alone if you've had a GA so you'll need someone to pick you up and be with you for 24 hours. I don't recall the advice about exercise, I was injured already so couldn't do much anyway! You're not meant to use tampons for a few weeks so that might affect the swimming plans.

Sorry, typo Blush - should have said 'How did you find it?', but you've answered that anyway, thanks!

I found it fine. Spotting for a week or so. The GA really wiped me out for about a week. I don’t think I could have run for a week or so afterwards. I’m actually having another hysteroscopy this afternoon, but no anaesthetic (I’ve also had one before with no anaesthetic and it was fine).

I had a failed hysterescopy without anaesthetic (was sick on the table, really horrible.) I then had it with GA a coupe if months later and it was literally fine. They just took a biopsy while I was asleep. Went in for seven and was out by half two.
