There is a nightingale singing - loudly- in my garden!

It is singing its little heart out in a big oak tree. I heard it last week but couldn’t really believe it and now it is back! I think it is being answered by another one quite far away in the woods.
I’m in Oxfordshire. Been here 10+ years - never heard it before. ❤️❤️❤️

It's a gorgeous song and a fab recording. I was curious to listen as Nightingales pretty much stop singing from late May. Have a listen to Song Thrush and see what you think:

Song thrushes are still bloody awesome, he sounds amazing!

Try the birdNET app, it analyses the birds song and tells you what it assesses the song to be. I was listening to a song thrush on a walk last week and it's a beguiling sound

I was about to post too say I actually prefer the call of a song thrush to a nightingale.

Perhaps the nightingale left Berkeley Square for your area because all the residents there have left to work from home in their second home near you.
