I've been losing sleep about how to pay for some monster unexpected bills coming up. Eg my regularly serviced car has an unexpected fault. My ancient but hitherto trusty lawnmower died and I can't afford to replace it even with a cheap 2nd hand one from Facebook marketplace. My similarly ancient boiler packed up and cost hundreds to fix which wiped out all my savings plus ate into bills money for this month. A few other bits similar. Things that I've been literally losing sleep over because I know it would end up in my deciding which direct debits to cancel for this month and shift on the problem until next month. And repeat and repeat :( I've worked really hard over the last couple of years to get out of that. Standard (for me anyway) single working parent shit.
So the good news....I logged on to the government website to check my tax code for this year as my employer has got it wrong in the past and there was a little flag saying I'm due a tax refund. Thought, hurrah £50!
It's £750!
I'm so so chuffed! I will be sleeping well tonight for the first time in weeks, I can sort the bills out plus there will be enough left over for fish and chips on the beach for 3dc and I during the summer holidays.
Just wanted to share here because nobody in real life knows I've been worried and I wanted to let it out somehow!
