Victorian Plumbing - are their baths good quality?

We like the look of Victorian Plumbing’s Milan shower bath but I’m not sure about the quality. Has anyone tried their own brand baths? Are they sturdy? How is the quality?

This is the one we are looking at but any experiences of ordering their own brand baths would be great to hear.

Many thanks 😊

Had a very bad experience with this company, vanity unit and sink both arrived damaged and they had the cheek expect me to pay the return costs. When returned their response was...we can't accept this return as goods are damaged! I suggested they check their emails. Would never use them again.

Very similar experience. Took me a while to have damaged goods replaced and a great deal of unnecessary discussion. Found them to be extraordinarily rude, too. Would not use again.

Our plumber friend hates them and all the bath store type companies. The issues are that it's all made cheaply with non standard fittings etc that can't be replaced when they inevitably go wrong.... Our bath is OK but the tap and shower head are utterly crap 5 years later.

Hi OP

I did extensive renovations on my Victorian house a couple of years ago. I really wanted to use local companies where possible, but sometimes the cost was just not comparible.

Do you have local independent bathroom stores near you? The reason I'm asking is that I found they often carried the same ranges as Victorian Plumbing, which means you can see/feel the quality for yourself before you buy.

I got the majority of my bathroom stuff from VP (downstairs cloakroom, two ensuites and master bathroom). I personally had no issues at all with delivery and I'm very happy with the quality.

I sat in a number of different baths before choosing this one. It was 1k more expensive at my local place. The delivery drivers were lovely and even helped my builders to hoist it into my bathroom!

I didn't have any problems with my order so cannot comment on VP's customer service.

Can't tell you about the quality because my stuff still hasn't shown up six weeks later! If it ever appears I'll let you know.

Purchased everything for our new bathroom from them , all items were good . BUT , delivery and customer service are shockingly bad , although we were happy with the quality of our purchases due to the horrendous problems with delayed deliveries and breakages we would never buy from them again.

There are two companies with very similar names btw... One is called Victoria Plumb - my plumber refuses to fit this any more. I used Victorian Plumbing, had the same experience as goldie, was fine here.

FlyingFlamingo · 15/06/2021 19:09

Our en suite is from them. The sink and shower are fine but the toilet arrived damaged and it was a huge hassle to get a replacement, it took weeks. They also didn’t collect the damaged one so we had to dispose of it ourselves. The delay in getting a replacement in turn delayed our builder and plumber and meant the build was delayed overall. I would avoid!

Ozanj · 15/06/2021 19:14

They are cheap for a reason.

hannah1122 · 16/06/2021 19:24

Oh no! I’m starting to get worried about the sink and vanity unit we ordered from them now! I might look elsewhere for the bath and other bits and pieces then ....!

Thanks for your replies :)
