I’m hating work. Feel exhausted by it and losing interest. My friends are all coupled up and cant go on holiday. Partner is working flat out for the next month.I feel shit about things and need to give myself a shake.

What would you do with sometime off? It seems depressing and sad taking days off to spend it alone.

Do some self care. Get hair, nails, brows, facial or all of them done. Try on some new clothes for summer. Have lunch in an outdoor cafe. Go to a yoga class or meditation class. Lounge in a shady place with an iced drink and a page-turning novel. Apart form lunch, all of those are things that are far better done alone than with someone.

Do you have children? A day off alone seems like bliss to me.

I usually go for a swim, not as early as usual but not too late so I can get the day off to a good start. Then I have something nice for lunch. I have a tonne of jobs to do around the house so I'd do that. Then the kids get back from school so my day "off" is over. I would still try and do something different from the usual routine maybe take them to the park or see a friend after school.

Other day off plans usually involve a walk and a coffee. Or in the good old days, shopping.

I take days off specifically to be on my own. Sleep in, garden, yoga, gym, read, potter. Love it

What do you enjoy doing and we can work it out from there? No point in suggesting a 1-1 pilates session if you loathe pilates.

Agree with @tedmullins, it's a bit insulting to single people to say it seems 'sad and depressing' to take a day off and spend it alone. Should people without families never bother with holidays then and just work 365 days a year? I find it more 'sad and depressing' that you're miserable at work but can't think of anything enjoyable at all you could do if you weren't at work without someone with you! Do you really never go anywhere on your own? Do you not have any hobbies or interests?

Either sleep in, read on the grass and meet a friend for lunch/coffee or go to a museum, or get the train to the seaside for the day.
