Anyone been to Alton Towers recently?

How was it? I've heard they are doing temp checks? Has it created lots of queues? Do we have to wear masks on rides?

Queues were pretty similar to other times I've been (except 13 which had massive queues!) They took our temperature on the way in and we're also doing it at the hotel.

We had to wear face coverings on the rides but not while queuing.

We had a great time!

Queues were fine, though recommend you get there early if school hols / weekend etc, also useful to check the app for queue times and work your way round that way. Yes to temp checks, did them on our wrists last time.

Masks are worn on most rides, though some rides you don't really need them and not many people were wearing them.

Felt v. safe as most of the queuing is outside etc.

We've had a fab time every time we've been lately.

It was great until I soiled myself on the roller coaster. Nightmare!!

Hi, we have just booked to go at the start of next month. How long does it take to get from the hotel to the park? Do you have to use the monorail? (And what are the queues like for that, please?
