Any family support workers out there?

I want to make a career change and am thinking of becoming a family support worker.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers of how to get the experience/ knowledge I would need to get into this line of work.
I've received support from FSW myself and that is what got me interested in this line of work.

I often see these jobs advertised and have wondered similarly. I thought they might be a bit like a Social Work assistant used to be?
