At the last wedding I went to, the song that filled the dance floor was 500 miles, by the Proclaimers. Gangnam Style also went down well.

mrsnw · 13/06/2021 08:31

We had , Can't take my eyes off of you' as our last dance of the evening. Got every single guest up on the dance floor.

I always choose Macarena, ketchup song or Reach - something with dance moves everyone knows as it always gets everyone up from all generations.

The most effective floor fillers at our wedding were Crazy in Love, which everyone loved including DH’s usually joyless DF, and (weirdly) Sandstorm by Darude, which the DJ selected independently towards the end of the evening and which people went absolutely nuts for - full rave, very unexpected as I wouldn’t have said that was our crowd’s vibe!

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 13/06/2021 08:54

I'm in the mood for dancing
Johnny B Goode (which should always be announced as "an oldie from where I come from" Grin )

RedRec · 13/06/2021 09:03

Hi Ho Silver Lining by Jeff Beck. I see a pp has said it too. Enduring dance floor filler of my youth and it always makes me think of my (still) best friend.

frumpety · 13/06/2021 09:07

Bee Gees - you should be dancing and staying alive

Justin Timberlake - can't stop the feeling

Bow wow wow - go wild in the country
