Any NSPCC volunteer counsellors out there?

NC for this

I have a 2 hour online interview with NSPCC soon and I was wondering if I could have some hits and tips from someone's who's been through the process.

Also, if any of you have experience of volunteering for the NSPCC, I'd love to hear about it.

Thank you.

Thank you, I appreciate your comments.
I wonder if I haven't had much practical advice because I haven't mentioned Childline?

I volunteered at ChildLine for a few years. It was a fantastic experience (although obviously heard some difficult things).

They want to know that you’re a good listener, non-judgemental, that you can take feedback etc. I don’t remember much about the initial interview (think there were scenarios and you had to discuss the circumstances/ how you might respond).

The actual training is incredibly intense and lots of people dropped out (think 12 of us started and only 4 made it through). They have other roles though if you decide the counselling part isn’t for you.

They’re a fab team. I spent time at both the Brum and Notts offices and the people there are just brilliant.

Good luck!
