Scott Mills daily

bonfireheart · 12/06/2021 13:25

Am sure people listen to more highbrow stuff but not sure how I'd have got through lockdown without Help I've Sexted My Boss.

kleew1 · 14/06/2021 22:41

Thanks everyone! I'm not high brow at all so looking forward to checking all of these out.

@bonfireheart just wanted to say cheers for the Sexted recommendation, it's hilarious!

It's now joined my subscriptions :o

BubblesThaDragoon · 21/06/2021 17:14

Currently on my list are:

Dark Histories
Unexplained
Lore
Death in Ice Valley
History Extra podcast
The History Hour
Hidden Histories
British Scandal
Criminology
Trace Evidence

SoupDragon · 21/06/2021 17:16

I love Alan Carr's Life's a Beach. Absolutely not highbrow!

I've also started listening to Annie Mac's Changes podcast - I only look for episodes with people I know though.

bonfireheart · 21/06/2021 17:33

@DoucheCanoe it's one of the few things that genuinely makes me laugh out loud!

Conversations with Annalisa Barbieri

podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/conversations-with-annalisa-barbieri/id1567190358

These are fantastic - I have really enjoyed the one on Trauma, Teenage Brains and Listening, but they are all fantastic.

CoodleMoodle · 21/06/2021 18:35

Mine are pretty lowbrow but all make me laugh:

Lockdown Parenting Hell

Life's a Beach (Alan Carr)

Seven Pillars (Alan Davies)

And the Taskmaster podcast, but only for fans of TM obviously!

CheeseAndBeans · 21/06/2021 18:39

Shagged, Married, Annoyed
Lockdown parenting hell
Wolf and Owl
No holes barred
Life's a beach with Alan Carr

None of these are in any way high brow, all make me laugh out loud though!

Bellasblankexpression · 21/06/2021 18:41

The Adam Buxton podcast is brilliant

hilariousnamehere · 21/06/2021 18:46

On my recent playlist (some might be a bit specific!)

ADHD for smartass women
Unf*ck your brain
Creative Reboot
Ladypod
No Filter

Looking forward to looking through all the ones in previous posts!

Terrazzo · 21/06/2021 19:16

Ooh I’ve picked up some recs from this thread, thanks! Been feeling a bit blah from most of my current ones, but historically I like:

My Favourite Murder
Happier with Gretchen Rubin
Laura Horn Art Podcast
Table Manners with Jessie Ware
Baby Name Envy
Office Ladies (although the listener questions are tiresome!)
So Lucky with Dawn O’Porter
What If with Lorraine (Kelly) and Rosie
Shagged Married Annoyed
Dear Hank and John
Delete This
Huberman Lab but eps are soooo long
The Apology Line
Grounded with Louis Theroux
Have You Heard George’s Podcast
Joan and Jericha
Fortunately with Fi and Jane
Mel Giedroyc is Quilting

And more. Has reminded me I need to declog my feed of Woman’s Hour which has gone to shit!

And for the kids:
Everything Under the Sun
Fun Kids Science Weekly

Terrazzo · 21/06/2021 19:17

Also Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders one on Audible.

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2021 19:19

All of the Parcast network ones are good if you like true crime type stuff

BBC sounds are fantastic - I had to binge listen to Where Is George Gibney

Not everyone’s cup of tea and the production quality is BAD but I like Worst Possible Timeline for the slightly hilarious chaos

MrsSHudson · 21/06/2021 19:48

Op, if you like Spencer and Vogue, have a listen to the podcast that vogue does with the comedienne Joanne McNally. It's called My Therapist Ghosted Me. It makes me laugh so hard at times.

Earfling · 21/06/2021 19:58

This may be a very silly question, I am new to podcasts (hence my solo recommendation only), but how do you save them? Do you just favourite the links or is there a way to automatically download them?

Bellasblankexpression · 21/06/2021 20:00

@Earfling you can use an app like apple podcasts subscribe to your favourites then they automatically download when there’s a new episode

Or you can stream or download on Spotify

DoucheCanoe · 21/06/2021 20:05

I use Google podcasts app on Android.

Just search what you're looking for, subscribe to the ones you like and new episodes appear in your feed or you can stream old episodes :)

BunnyRuddington · 21/06/2021 20:10

Joe Wickes has done some interviews on BBC Sounds. So far I've listened to Sir Tom Jones & Sporty Spice. Both were very good.

Earfling · 21/06/2021 20:16

Thank you very much.
